Beyond Structural Engineering delivered comprehensive structural engineering services for this large custom residence located in Aireys Inlet on Victoria’s iconic Surf Coast. The project required innovative structural solutions to support the architecturally designed home while accommodating large open-plan living spaces, expansive glazing, overhanging elements, and the demands of a coastal environment.
Working closely with the architect, builder, and project team, we developed practical and buildable structural solutions that complemented the architectural vision while ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and long-term structural performance.
The structural design incorporated reinforced concrete foundations, masonry construction, timber framing, and structural steel elements to create a robust and efficient structural system. Particular attention was given to the integration of large open-plan living spaces, cantilevered and overhanging architectural features, and the coordination of structural elements with the architectural layout.
The result was a structurally efficient and highly buildable design that delivered the architectural intent while providing durability and performance suitable for the coastal conditions of Victoria’s Surf Coast.
